About the event

Phase Shift Video Artist Meetup

Come play, share, and experiment with a variety of video and light art tools.

Phase Shift, the nomadic art collective of multimedia artists Paloma Kop and Andrei Jay, is visiting San Francisco and hosting a night for video and light artists.

This event is open to anyone interested in learning more about video art and synthesis techniques. Local artists are also invited to bring their own equipment for folks to explore (tables and outlets will be provided). This will be an opportunity for both new and seasoned videonauts to come together and share ideas and techniques, and open a portal into the weird and wonderful world of video art.

Phase Shift is a nomadic art collective composed of Paloma Kop, an experimental multimedia artist, and Andrei Jay, a mathematician, video artist, and educator. Together, they are traveling across the US in a 1988 Chevy van, visiting artist spaces and leading workshops and meet-ups. Previously, the two artists helped start scanlines.xyz, organized events through Phase Space, and have been guest lecturers at Wesleyan University, Hamilton College, and NYU.
